Independent Cuyahoga County executive candidate Ken Lanci unveiled plans for two opportunities to build awareness with the public and listen to the people’s concerns in his campaign for county executive.
Lanci announced yesterday “The Candidate” reality television series will make its debut on Sunday, May 16 at noon on WEWS TV5 in Cleveland.
Additionally, “The Candidate, Hosted by Ken Lanci” will make its radio debut this Friday, May 14 from 5-6 p.m. on WERE 1490 AM
“The Candidate” is a groundbreaking politically-themed reality program that takes a look at the day-to-day life of a candidate. It’s both informative and meant to be entertaining. It will introduce Lanci to the public in a realistic way and show the inside drama and work of campaigns that most people don’t see.
Seeking high-quality production, Lanci asked Bruce Seifert of Venue Studios in Euclid, Ohio to produce the show.
Lanci was asked on the day of his announcement for office how a candidate without a political party and no initial name recognition would run a campaign differently so that the public would get to know him and trust him to be their new executive? This is his answer: a unique, innovative and outside-of-the-box approach, a hallmark of his previous successes.
“The people can watch every week, be educated and entertained, and find out about my views and leadership style in a way that they are comfortable,” said Lanci.
“I said I would run a different kind of campaign, and this is truly unique, and unprecedented. This is an example of the bold thinking that will turn Cuyahoga County around. It also shows that we plan to do things much differently than they have been done before.” said Lanci.
“The Candidate Hosted by Ken Lanci” on WERE 1490 A.M. will also begin its radio run this weekend. Lanci purposely chose an urban themed radio station to deliver his message to those who believe they are most affected by this change.
“I like to listen, learn and lead,” said Lanci. “My program will focus on the community and how we can improve it together. I will host pastors, job creators, community activists, and regular people, like myself, every Friday afternoon and listen to the public’s ideas. After decades of talk and no action, I will listen and then act upon the good ideas of the public.”
